Silicon Labs EFR32MGM21 based Coordinator connected over PoE!

Modular design based on Olimex ESP32-PoE and Silicon Labs MGM210PA32JIA2 module.

Same family of radio used in Home Assistant Yellow and SkyConnect!

Shipped with Zigbee EZSP NCP FW based on 6.10.3 SDK.

Upgradeable to Thread/Matter with concurrent Zigbee in the future!

Non-locked firmware and updatable over serial via gecko bootloader.

EZSP firmware supported by ZHA in Home Assistant. Alpha/Experimental support is now in Zigbee2mqtt but is untested.

Silicon Labs MGM210PA32JIA2 module:

  • 2.4 GHz radio
  • TX power up to +20 dBm
  • 32-bit ARM Cortex®-M33 with DSP instruction and floating point unit for efficient signal processing
  • 1024 kB flash program memory
  • 96 kB RAM data memory
  • Embedded Trace Macrocell (ETM) for advanced debugging

PoE switch or Injector required to power

IEEE 802.3-compliant, including pre-standard (legacy) PoE support. The PoE powering requires at least 37V DC to operate successfully

How many max devices does this coordinator support? Gatu asked on December 10, 2023

FW is compiled to allow 32 direct children, with routing devices in the mesh, it can support hundreds.

Hi, could you please explain the difference between this and CC2652 P7 Based Zigbee to PoE -> which one I should select If I want Home Assistant ZHA with bunch of china buttons, sensors, ... :) Thanks! Jan asked on November 26, 2023

If just planning to use ZHA the EFR32 has first class support. If you want to use Zigbee2MQTT I'd go with the cc2652.
