TubesZB Z-Wave Kits

This kit originally did not contain a Z-Wave radio, but now optionally comes with a Zooz 800 Long Range ZAC93

This device requires use of the Z-Wave JS UI or the Z-Wave JS UI Home Assistant Community Addon

This product is a kit, it contains a pre-flashed Olimex ESP32-PoE with ESPHome firmware to use as a TCP serial port, a 3d printed enclosure and Raspberry Pi GPIO to Olimex UEXT adapter, which allows the the Z-Wave modules made for the Pi’s gpio pins to work with the ESP32-PoE.

Tested and confirmed working with the zwave.me Razzbery Pro 7 and the Zooz Long Range 800 (ZAC93-93-Module). I’ve worked with Zooz to be able to become a reseller of their ZAC93 module and this is now available as an option when purchasing.

Please Note if purchasing a kit including the Zooz ZAC93

  • Register your Zooz ZAC93 with Zooz within 30 days of purchase. By registering you will receive a 5-Year Extended Warranty on your ZAC93, direct access to firmware update files, and expedited support.

Other modules built for the Raspberry Pi’s gpio pins will likely work but may not be compatible with the enclosure.

Set up is as simple as entering the IP address of the ESP32-PoE and port as the serial port in the Z-Wave settings – tcp://IP_ADDRESS:6638

This is probably the best money I’ve spent on a Home Assistant device. After having been on 500, 700 and 800 series USB Z-Wave radios, this is a massive upgrade.

Great quality and easy setup. Plus fast shipping. It’s so nice to be able to put my Zigbee and Zwave coordinators in more logical places in my home. TubesZB products are rock-solid!

Awesome little device. Got the Zooz ZAC93 LR to use with it and couldn’t be happier about the ability to place this thing wherever I’ve got an ethernet cable. Can’t recommend it enough!

  7. Justin S. (verified owner)

I had to wait a couple days for it to get back in stock (thanks for having an email alert system!) but it was worth it, my ZWave mesh is working seamlessly with ZWave JS UI and Home Assistant now, and the device seems rock solid. So happy to have a PoE option for ZWave!

    Just an awesome product

  9. Gary M. (verified owner)

Overall I’m happy with the device. Paired it with the Zooz 800 ZAC93 LR module. Out of the box I was able to adopt it to my existing ESPHome setup but I could not edit its config or update it which I think is normal. I ended up having to build a custom flash adding my changes to the stock ESPHome config from Git and flashing it to the device. Keep up the good work. Thanks!

Excellent customer support! Quick responses to questions, very kind. Reprinted a part and sent it quickly when needed.

Fantastic is the way I’d describe this. Not only does the POE nature of it make it easier for me to place it where it’s most centralized with only one wire but by the same nature being IP based allows for that central placement to not have to be right next to my HA instance. Plus I have a garage that even with repeaters isn’t close enough to the house to pickup the one coordinator’s signal so being IP I was able to just spin up another zwave server and plug this coordinator into the garages wireless repeater and PoE switch. I highly recommend this for anyone’s setup either small or large

    Works perfectly, just plug-and-play!

    Great device and excellent service!

Switching from my GOControl USB to the Tubeszb POE kit was a great decision. Thanks to the Ethernet connection I’m able to move the controller to be centerally placed in my jome and I can have my Home Assistant VM in High Availability. 10/10

I cannot get it setup in HA. I ended up buying the Hoobz usb stick as it was way easier.

This product works great and is worth getting

This device works like a charm and support for additional details has been great during purchase. 5 stars!!!

Q & A

Ask a question
Is it possible to turn off the led lights? Zeid asked on December 21, 2024

Unfortunately they are ties to the hardware for the ethernet connection and are not controllable. Covering with black electrical tape is the most common solution.

Are the two versions, hardware-wise identical (both in setup and orientation), with the only difference being the case? Would it be safer to get the razzberry pro 7 version with antenna cut out, despite starting off with a Zooz antenna-less adapter and possibly swapping if there are issues with the Zooz radio (due to range or something). Alan asked on July 9, 2024

This is true. I have not seen mush as far as the Zooz vs the Razberry radio performance one way or another.
