  1. Anonymous (verified owner)

    Works great, worked with z2m as well as zha. Stable on z2m so far.

  2. Kurt (verified owner)

    Exactly what I needed. A solid, no-frills device that just works and can become the backbone of my zigbee network.

    I had some initial trouble getting it into Home Assistant but that was probably my fault.
    It has been working like a champ and I highly recommend it.

  3. qasim bhatti (verified owner)

    excellent product – i really like it, seems to be very stable. the only thing id do is update the WIKI to include information specifically about this device as it is not very easy to access – keeping that bit of paper that comes with it is quite important to ensure you click the right settings in HA.

    arrived very quickly and well packaged. if ever I need one again ill definitely be buying from these guys.

  4. Frank Meffert (verified owner)

    First time using Zigbee with Home Assistant, first time using PoE.
    Set up a PoE hub, plugged in the Zigbee hub, and every one of my Zigbee devices all over the house paired and is working perfectly. Small 1200 square foot, single floor house, Zigbee hub is covering in its entirety.
    Super happy.

    Works like a champ!

  6. Anonymous (verified owner)

    Great product and works perfectly with my home assistant setup. Instructions for setup and use could have been more clear but I figured it out.

  7. Ryan M. (verified owner)

    Amazing coordinator! Was hesitant to go with the EFR32 but it’s been a flawless experience with Zigbee2MQTT in Home Assistant with around 150 devices.

Q & A

Ask a question
Does this allow my VM Home assistant to have zigbee capability? If yes, are there instructions on how to do this? Is there also a bluetooth antenna that can work over ethernet for a VM instance of HA? Paul asked on November 7, 2024

Yes this will give HA in a VM a zigbee coordinator that is network connected to alleviate any usb passthrough troubles. The ESP32 does have BT but I don't advise using as a proxy. BT and Zigbee both run on 2.4 ghz, the close proximity is likely to cause a good bit of interference affecting both protocols.

Right now I have z2m using the ezsp driver for this device, but get a warning about changing to ember instead, would that be possible with this coordinater? Henrik asked on October 21, 2024

All MGM24 modules shipped with FW based on SDK 7.4.1, which should work with ember - which needs a 7.4.x version or higher

I like to switch from a Dongle E to this coordinator in Zigbee2MQTT. Is there a suggested way to do that without a need to repair all devices? Stefan asked on September 24, 2024

I am not sure if Z2M can migrate EFR32 devices yet. you could use zigpy-cli to backup your current Dongle E network settings and restore them the new device outside of Z2M I would think that would work.

https://github.com/zigpy/zigpy-cli/blob/dev/README.md

$ zigpy radio ezsp /dev/ttyUSB0 backup dongleE-backup.json

$ zigpy radio znp socket://IP:6638 restore dongleE-backup.json

This would be placed in close proximity to my wireless access point (approx 6 inches). Will this cause an issue with interference? Chuck Sumpter asked on August 22, 2024

That would be a bad idea. Try and locate away from other 2.4 GHz devices.

I have the "CC2652P2" connected to ZHA and want's to start playing with z2m aswell, If I buy this coordinater, would it then be better to swap the two around since you state it's only experimentaly supportet by z2m? Henrik asked on May 3, 2024

You can but you have to be careful to make sure you change the ieee on the cc2652 after moving to the mgm24 with zha, as it will copy over the network setting if you migrate to it, including the ieee address. You'll want the coordinators to have different ieee address.
