All great, but you should definitely organize an EU store. Shipping time & cost, together with taxes is killing the price.

Works great over POE and I was able to make my Home Assistant instance high availability with proxmox by moving to this. 🙂

Very good product. Easy to setup and working as expected.

This coordinator is so easy to use and being PoE you can place it anywhere you want. Easily integrated in to Home Assistant. I will also buy their repeater if i ever need one, great company.

Q & A

Can this device act as a router instead of a coordinator? Asking because of this reddit conversation: https://www.reddit.com/r/homeassistant/comments/xf6or1/is_there_a_poe_capable_zigbee_router/ Dominic Williams asked on November 29, 2023

Any of the coordinators can be flashed as routers, however the ethernet data link would not be used at all. For PoE devices this would mean just power delivery to the device. Zigbee networks only allow one coordinator connected to a host, all other devices in the mesh are part of a wireless mesh.

The idea of range extending routers with a link back to network with ethernet is tied to Thread and Thread Border Routers. But honestly the development just isn't there yet where this is stable from what I understand.

Is there another enclosure available that will open USB port? It would certainly add versatility to the device Tanya asked on November 7, 2023

No, the usb port on the PoE modules is blocked on purpose to lower the chance that usb and PoE would be used at the same time, which will kill the board and likely kill the usb controller as well.

Can I operate thi device without PoE with just plugin USB power and normal ethernet connection Fabo asked on September 3, 2023

technically yes, but the usb port is not accessible while in enclosure. This is to prevent the likelihood of PoE and usb being used simultaneously which is can not be done without damaging the device or whatever is on the other end of the usb cable.

Will the CC2652P2 Based Zigbee to PoE Coordinator 2023 be upgradeable to Thread/Matter in future? Tom Anderson asked on July 16, 2023

I have Thread/RCP firmware for the CC2652P2 posted on GitHub, it has been tested over usb with the OpenThread Border Router addon from Home Assistant, which does not currently support network serial connections. Having said that, I will be looking into the ESP32 Border Router project as this may be a better fit for the PoE as Thread is ip based and Home Assistant could utilize directly over ip.
